Welcome to the Aluantu blog. We have decided to begin sharing the magic that exists here and which deeply moves people, transforming their lives.
We are hard wired to the power of stories. By sharing our guest´s stories we invite you to participate and sense for yourselves what it is we do here, how it is we do it and most importantly the impact our work has on all beings who encounter us in motion. Wishing you all abundance and peace.
The sun has set over lake Rapunco and I find myself in a moment of heightened emotion. The Sharing Book which lives on the coffee table in the open reception area of the lodge here at Aluanta, has given me a few rays of light in the form of the memories previous guests have chosen to share.
The light within – Aluantu´s meaning in the native Mappuche language – is a perfect summation of what this place is about. I get a sense that the magic here has already begun its work on me. And I submit, saying yes to all opportunities of transformation that come across my path.
The Sharing Book is an A4 notebook, hardbacked, the thickness of a brick. There are many blank pages waiting to be filled with the memories, stories and sentiments of the people who pass through this enchanting place.
The cycle of my first week is coming around and I have a sense that I will be here, on this land, in this community, for a while yet. I feel I have work to do, which I am hungry for. And I know I have energy to give.
I´m not quite sure what I mean by work – I sense inner work, yes. As well as my own personal growth. But my time and energy will also be spent manifesting the vision Greg so passionately and clearly shares with us here in the community. It is clear we are all working towards something bigger than any one of us and my role in that is yet to be clarified, although inevitably, it will come.
My imagination is firing through my body, rather than my mind in this instance, showing me I can give the land of Rupanco and the community here exactly what it is longing for.
I have been given so much by Greg, who holds and orchestrates the space here so lovingly. He provides a roof, fire, food, company, ears, hearts, love, space, time and access to deep unspoiled nature. He is showing me what it means to give and is enabling me to connect to myself, others and nature.
Receiving so much inspires me and motivates me to give the best of myself. I believe in what is happening here and wish to help the community and project evolve and flourish in whatever way I can.
I humbly offer my story here and invite you into the magic, the mystical and mysterious which is alive and present.
For now, I leave you with some Yeats.
Had I the heavens’ embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
